It’s Meet the Author Monday! Each week we meet a new author and get to know a little about them, their writing process, publishing experience, and tips for other writers. Today we’re talking to Rony Kessler, author of The Mysterious Animal Soup and Rachel’s Gifts.
About Rony Kessler:
Rony is an Israeli born American, he grew up in Tel Aviv, across the street from the beach.
He arrived in NY with his family as a teen, obtaining an associate degree from NY City Community College after graduating from High School, later receiving an Accounting degree from Queens College after four years of night School. Rony Served in the US Army during the Vietnam war, and earned a master’s in business administration from LIU. Licensed as a CPA years, Rony concentrated in Tax and financial consulting.
Rony always loved to write Poetry and essays it led him to initiate, write and edit a client newsletter for over twenty years. Some forty years ago Rony joined Rotary International, a service and charity organization, where he also started, wrote and edited a newsletter until 2019. Rony is still very active with Rotary, raising money for many causes and organizations.
Rony and his wife Ana live on Long Island in NY, they have six children and twelve Grandchildren and love to spend time with them.
Rachel was born in Rony’s mind, while waiting for a friend in a restaurant, some 20 years ago,. He still has the napkin on which he wrote the opening chapter. When asked why it took this long to finish the book, he laughed and said he waited for his Grand Children to get old enough to help him edit the book, which indeed they did.
