ABOUT THE BOOKS (from Amazon):

Think you know the person you married? Think again…
Things have been wrong with Mr and Mrs Wright for a long time. When Adam and Amelia win a weekend away to Scotland, it might be just what their marriage needs. Self-confessed workaholic and screenwriter Adam Wright has lived with face blindness his whole life. He can’t recognize friends or family, or even his own wife.
Every anniversary the couple exchange traditional gifts–paper, cotton, pottery, tin–and each year Adam’s wife writes him a letter that she never lets him read. Until now. They both know this weekend will make or break their marriage, but they didn’t randomly win this trip. One of them is lying, and someone doesn’t want them to live happily ever after.
Ten years of marriage. Ten years of secrets. And an anniversary they will never forget.
Rock Paper Scissors is the latest exciting domestic thriller from the queen of the killer twist, New York Times bestselling author Alice Feeney.

“Rock Paper Scissors” by Alice Feeney is a book that intrigued me from the beginning, leading me down a rabbit hole of twists, turns, and theories that had me re-listening to chapters and scouring the internet for discussions on its ending.
The plot centers around a couple struggling to salvage their marriage with a weekend getaway, which quickly turns into something far more complex and eerie than a simple attempt at reconciliation. With each year of marriage examined through anniversary letters, Feeney slowly peels back the layers of the relationship, revealing not just where things might have gone wrong but intertwining this with a narrative filled with suspense and uncertainties. Just when you think you’ve grasped the story’s direction, a new twist throws everything you thought you knew into question.
The true brilliance of this book lies in its ending—a twist so unexpected and yet so perfectly aligned with the narrative that it prompted me to seek out others’ interpretations, only to find that no one seemed to share my take. Despite the unresolved feelings the ending may leave some readers with (including me!), I gave the book five stars for its ability to captivate, entertain, and mystify me. It’s a novel that not only provides a thrilling ride but also invites readers into a deeper dialogue.
