Social Media Marketing

Let’s face it.  Social Media is hot.  Almost everyone you know is on Facebook these days, including your grandma.  Your local news station wants you to follow them on Twitter.  Your friends share home videos on Facebook from YouTube.  You received a resume with a link to find references for the candidate on LinkedIn.  Activity on social networking sites is growing daily.  If you are not already leveraging these resources in your marketing efforts, now is the time to get started!

I blog about book marketing tips for authors because book marketing is one of my specialties. Social media is important for authors in their book promotion efforts, as it is for any business owner with a product to sell or any non-profit organization with a message to share.

How social media can benefit your business or organization

Businesses can use social media to help grow their business by increasing customer loyalty, generating leads and referrals, driving traffic to the website, promoting events, increasing visibility, monitoring reputation, keeping an eye on the competition, and providing better customer service.

Non-Profits can use social media to increase awareness for their organization, promote events, run fundraising campaigns, personalize interactions with supporters, educate, and provide better customer service.

How I can help

Whatever you want to promote, my blog will provide you with tips on how to develop your social media marketing strategy, how to network effectively and how to save time by integrating the services you are using.  I also posts book reviews for marketing books I recommend and interviews with social media marketing experts we can all learn from.

Don’t miss these tips!  You can have my blog posts delivered directly to your email inbox (click to subscribe in the right side bar), follow me on Twitter or connect with me on LinkedIn.

  1. Hello,
I’ve just completed my first book. It is a poetry book filled with poems from bereavement, military pain to love and intimate moments. The book is written to appeal to men and women with something that readers from the ages eighteen to eighty and older to appreciate and enjoy. I would love help on the very best ways to promote and sell my book.

    Thank you,
    Priscilla

    1. Hi Priscilla,

You can find tips and advice on my blog related to using social media to promote books. If you want one-on-one assistance, the Personal Marketing Assistant (PMA) option through Outskirts Press is the place to start. You don’t have to publish with Outskirts Press to take advantage of this marketing service. A PMA can help you develop a marketing plan, before, during or after the publication of your book, and can work with you to carry out the marketing tasks you want to pursue for your book. If you are interested in this, you can read more about it and order it at any time: http://www.outskirtspress.com/p/pma.
