My Video Book Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to another video book review. This week we were looking at The 5AM Club by Robin Sharma.
So I started waking up at 5:00 AM at the beginning of this year. And I just, I wanted to read the book just to see kind of, you know, what it taught.
I was surprised, it’s written as a fictional story and I wasn’t expecting that.
It’s like three character, well kind of three characters, main characters. Two of them start out at a seminar and at the end of the seminar end up meeting this homeless person. They end up going on this journey of discovery, this life-changing journey, where they learn that getting up at 5:00 AM is how to change your life.
The story gets a little silly at times. And I tend to read, so I read 10 pages of a non-fiction book per day. And so some days I was reading the 10 pages and by the end of the 10 pages, like nothing had happened, it was just these characters in this, you know, in this scene, whatever. And it sometimes felt like it got a little long and drawn out.
But the idea of the book is that getting up at 5:00 AM and doing the specific things that he teaches is the key to increasing your productivity, increasing your success, that you…it just starts your day on the right foot and kind of continues your day because you just started it out really strong.
I found the book really inspiring. Like I said, I was already getting up at 5:00 AM, so it was just kind of reinforcing in my mind that this was a good practice. After I read it, I decided to read The Miracle Morning, so that will be the next review that I do. I’ve read and completed that one, so I’m going to do a comparison to the two after I do the two individual book reviews.
I am not a morning person as some people have asked me when I’ve mentioned that I’ve read this book. I hate getting up at 5:00 AM. I hate getting up at 6:00 AM. I’d rather sleep. But as a busy mom with a full-time job and three kids I am starting to see and experience some of the benefits of waking up early and taking some time for yourself in the morning.
So I’m curious to see how it goes when I continue this practice and kind of see a few weeks months down the road, if I can really speak for the benefits that he says that you’ll see, and I’ll let you know.
