  1. What is the first book that made you cry?

To Kill a Mockingbird. I sobbed. I’ve cried at a lot of books but that was the first one I remember that made me sob. I loved Scout so much.

  1. Does writing energize or exhaust you?

It depends. Some days it’s such a struggle to write anything. It feels like I’m typing through a thick fog. Other days, I’m flying and I feel so energised and alive. The secret is to keep going to matter what.

  1. What are common traps for aspiring writers?

Getting started. That was my biggest hurdle. But, literally all you have to do is write 30 minutes a day, no matter what, every day.

  1. Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

All my books are linked. Right now, The Texts Before We Met is out on Amazon. That’s the prequel to the first book in the series, The Girl Who Jumped, which will be out January 14 2022. There will be two more books in the series out in 2022 and 2023. There’s even a stand-alone book (out in 2024) that’s linked too because all my novels are based on true stories from my life.

  1. What is the best part of your day?

The best part of my day is playing with my two baby daughters. They make me laugh so much and I love their made up language. Unicorns are camels, Duplo (lego) is buco and butterflies are potty pies.

  1. Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you.

I’m a terrible singer, like really terrible. I put a lot of effort into Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and it still doesn’t sound right.

  1. If you could only have one season, what would it be?

Summer, but only when I live at the beach. There’s nothing better than a deserted white sandy beach, blue sky and turquoise waters. Soaking up the heat and swimming in the ocean is the best feeling ever.

  1. What’s your favorite spot to visit in your own country? And what makes it so special to you?

My favorite spot in the UK is a rooftop bar in London. Looking down at the twinkling lights below and feeling on top of the world is so special. One specific bar is where I fell in love with the man of my dreams (and who my books are all about!)
